Investment funds

Investment funds are a modern and easy form of investment.

Shares in investment funds represent joint ownership in the assets of the respective fund. With investment funds, you enjoy your investment according to the principle of risk diversification. Depending on their investment guidelines, funds comprise various issuers and different securities categories. Extensive product diversity enables investors to have investments in a wide variety of markets and asset classes. And with a low capital investment.

The three main types are bond funds, equity funds and mixed funds. The investment guidelines of an investment fund specify the scope of fund management in asset allocation (e.g. weighting of countries, regions, industries, foreign currencies, etc.). An active fund management offers investors the opportunity to profit from changes in the capital markets.

The risk of investing in a fund depends on the fund’s investment policy and the performance of the underlying markets. Please note that unlike bonds, investment funds generally have no redemption and therefore no fixed redemption price. The performance of investment funds can also be negative, resulting in the loss of invested capital. As a rule, fund shares can be redeemed at any time at the redemption price. In exceptional circumstances, redemption can be suspended pending the sale of the fund assets and receipt of the proceeds.

Monthly investment in investment funds

Monthly investment in investment funds is the ideal tool. Whether you want to reach a certain goal (construction, education of children etc.) or require a supplement to your state pension, the investment plan offers you every possibility. With the investment plan you continuously invest - roughly monthly - in an investment fund which you have selected from the fund master list. You automatically invest a fixed amount (at least EUR 50) and thereby purchase fund shares at the respective current issue price.

Advantages:
  • No minimum commitment period.
  • Possibility to change your monthly investment amount.
  • Payment holiday according to your requirements.

Risks:
  • Investment funds are subject to market and liquidity risks.
  • Even with a monthly investment the investment performance can be negative due to the performance of the fund and the associated fees and expenses.
  • In principal: riskier investment = higher chances of profit but also higher risk of loss.
